My Thoughts on Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts Game

If you are not familiar with Cabela’s new hunting game, Dangerous Hunts 2011, you might simply check the title and instantly assume it’s a big game hunting simulator of some form. All Of Us have seen the form of hunting game before, the type where you identify your gun, choose your camo, and spend a solid hour hoping to see the difference among bear poop and a clump of rocks. Yet someplace among shooting at a mountain lion in awesome slow motion and fighting back hungry wild wolves that have evil red demon eyes, you’ll realize that assumption doesn’t quite apply to this game.
This hunting game is better viewed as a survival type game first and as a hunting game 2nd. The plot puts the player in the role of a hunting man whose name is Cole whose quest forces him across a wide variety of terrain spread across the United States and Africa to kill animals that have have been taken over by evil spirits. In one particular level you are shown Cole escaping from an avalanche in the dead of night, moving across the dark forest and scaring off attacking animals attempting to stalk him while he deals with environmental hazards, like hidden steel traps and a frozen over river.
Similar to prior releases of Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts, you will play the game using a unique rifle controller equipped with an adjustable telescopic sight and stock, in addition to analog sticks in order to control the players range of motion so that you don’t have to play on rails. The red telescopic sight is nice, and enjoyable to operate. It can be in fact sort of complicated to see what you are shooting at through it. To use the scope, just press the button marked A and it makes the screen viewable through the lens. Sometimes, it can be hard to see through the scope, making for a frustrating game.
Aside from giving you some more control over how you fire your shots, the gun controller is equipped with a awesome feature called Hunter Vision. The Hunter Vision feature will expose hidden things by momentarily rendering the game screen a very garbled hodge podge of red hued colors that you can decipher by browsing through the scope of the gun like a night vision scope. For those players that had the previous version of the gun in which the trigger was in the front of the gun, this gun is much better. The trigger assembly is now located in the rear, and the gun can bre reloaded by a pump located on the front. Also, all of the controls are customizable (unlike the earlier version). The gun is fully adjustable so even heavy players can retain the stock of the rifle in their shoulder while looking through the rifle scope, giving a exceptionally real feeling to the game.
as well as the previously mentioned story mode, Dangerous Hunts will come with a variety of different modes, along with multi player options, such as the Shooting Gallery like other hunting games. Additionally, Dangerous Hunts 2011 in general is extremely hard to play. I really liked playing the game and I also like to play hunting games online from time to time.
